We live in a highly competitive marketplace, and inevitably we
often pay what we see as a high price for a business. Our strategy
is to build the confidence to pay that high price by doing thorough
due diligence, thinking carefully about each deal, and bringing to
it the highest standards of professional competence.
We have to understand every business we invest in – intimately. We owe this to the management teams we will be working with and, of course, to our investors. This means a comprehensive due diligence programme. The good news is that we have done this so many times before that people can be surprised how quickly and efficiently it can be completed.
